Codes and Conventions – systems of signs, which create meaning. Codes are visual/audio, conventions group together to make a genre.

 FRONT COVER

The Masthead of the front cover is on the top left, the font used is Bold and classic to make it stand out and uses a red and white colour scheme.   ------------->

Fonts there is only one style of font used which is Hard and Bold meaning the magazine 

has a serious vibrancy to it.  ------------------------------->

The colour scheme is focused on three colours of red, white and black. These colours are very stereotypical of the rap genre therefore are used a lot. 

The cover lines consist of lost of information about other rap artists' life such as 'Lil Scrappy' and 'Maria's problem child'

Main image - This is a medium long shot to represent strength and power in the genre of rap. Stereotypical he is wearing clothes that represent rap as well. 

Puffs are also used in the top right to give an interesting story to make the reader want to read onwards and buy the magazine.
